In the presence of the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars, the District Commissioner of Central Erbil District, university professors, and religious figures, the Rawanga Foundation team installed a wudu water purification, rainwater harvesting, and reuse system for irrigation and washing at Haji Jabbar Braghi Mosque in the city of Erbil. A project where faith, science, and environmental responsibility come together.
The system purifies the mosque's used water through eight scientific and technical stages, recycling and purifying 3,000 liters daily — reaching 10,400 liters on Fridays — and 28,400 liters per week, making it suitable for reuse in garden irrigation and mosque cleaning. It operates with 18 solar panels in accordance with international standards.
This project is a living example of the integration of faith and science, and a lesson for the future that water conservation is both a sacred and national duty.
