Rwanga Foundation Hosts Poets’ Forum in Erbil

In a national and cultural celebration attended by Mr. Idris Nechirvan Barzani, President and Founder of Rwanga Foundation, alongside, literary figures, poets, writers, and distinguished literature enthusiasts from all four parts of Kurdistan, Rwanga Foundation organized the Poets’ Forum in Erbil.

The gathering aimed to honor our nation’s poetic heritage, bridge generations through verse, inspire contemporary and future poets, and cultivate national consciousness through the power of literary expression.

The forum opened with a live musical performance representing all four parts of Kurdistan, poetry recitations in four Kurdish dialects (Sorani, Kurmanji, Hewrami, Kelhuri), scholarly discussions on poetic traditions and contemporary verse, and comparative analysis between classical and modern poetry, and an exploration of precision and semantic aesthetics in Nali’s poetry.

The forum concluded with recognition awards presented to ten distinguished poets and literary scholars for their contributions to Kurdish literature.

Through this forum, Rwanga Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and advancing Kurdish language, culture and supporting the nation’s poets and literary figures.
