The Final Ceremony for the 'Messages from Children' was Held
Erbil, Kurdistan 5/11/2024 - The Final Ceremony for the 'Messages from Children'
project was held in the Kurdistan Parliament.
Messages from Children is an annual project by Rwanga Foundation that creates a drawing competition among primary school students to express their ideas and messages through painting about 'How do you see yourself in 2045'.
The project aimed to encourage primary school students to express their views passionately through art. This year's artistic theme was answering the question 'How do you see yourself in 2045'. The project was conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Kurdistan Parliament.
Primary school students from across the Kurdistan Region participated in the competition. A total of 1,095 students participated in the competition. Later, a committee of art experts selected the best 50 paintings created by 50 students. The participation rate from different areas was as follows:
The ceremony began with Rwanga Foundation's speech by Mr. Hassan Sheikh Aladin, Executive Director, followed by speeches from Kurdistan Parliament by Mr. Fuad Ahmed, the Ministry of Education by Mr. Burhan Argoshi, and Mr. Safin Dizayee, Head of the Department of Relations. During the process, 11-year-old Mohammed Mahdi delivered Rwanga Foundation's message to the winning children and guests. Following the speeches and foundation's message, an exhibition of the selected paintings, which were hung on a designated wall inside the Kurdistan Regional Parliament building with the names of students and their schools, was opened by guests and teachers. The winning children also took a tour inside the parliament, and at the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to the winning students, teachers, and their schools.
