Food Basket Distribution Throughout The Kurdistan Region
On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Rwanga Foundation Distributed 7,000 Food Baskets Throughout the Kurdistan Region.
On April 6, 2024, Rwanga Foundation initiated the distribution of 7,000 food baskets to families in need throughout the Kurdistan Region in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The distribution process lasted for four days and aimed to provide essential food items to low-lying families. Family data and information were collected in cooperation with the governorates and the Joint Crisis Cooperation Centre in each governorate.
The distribution plan was carefully executed, with 2,220 baskets distributed in Erbil. Additionally, 2,030 baskets were distributed in Duhok. In Sulaimani, 1,250 baskets were distributed, Kirkuk 500 baskets distributed and Halabja received 1000 baskets.
Each food basket contained 13 essential food items, including rice, food oil, tomato paste, sugar, bags of tea, lentil, white beans and more.
After the completion of the distribution process, Rwanga Foundation conducted a thorough evaluation to assess the impact and efficiency of the distribution, ensuring that the initiative effectively reached the families in need and provided them with essential food items during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
