Parcel of Smile throughout The Kurdistan Region

On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Rwanga Foundation Distributed 5,000 "Parcels of Smile" Throughout The Kurdistan Region.

On April 15, 2023, Rwanga Foundation initiated the distribution of 5,000 food baskets titled "Parcel of Smile" to families in need throughout the Kurdistan Region in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The distribution process lasted for four days and aimed to provide essential food items to low-lying families. Family data and information were collected in cooperation with the governorates and the Joint Crisis Cooperation Centre in each governorate.


The distribution plan was carefully executed, with 1,000 baskets distributed in Erbil and 500 baskets in Soran district. Additionally, 1,000 baskets were distributed in Duhok, along with 300 baskets in Zakho. In Sulaimani, 1,000 baskets were distributed, with 300 baskets in the Raparin area of Sulaimani. Halabja received 600 baskets, and Garmian received 300 baskets.


Each food basket weighed 35 kilograms and contained seven essential food items, including 3 bags of rice (4.5 kg), 6 bottles of food oil (1 liter), 4 cans of tomato paste (1,000 grams), 1 bag of sugar (5 kg), 5 bags of tea (200 grams), 4 bags of lentil (500 grams), and 4 bags of white beans (500 grams).


After the completion of the distribution process, Rwanga Foundation conducted a thorough evaluation to assess the impact and efficiency of the distribution, ensuring that the "Parcel of Smile" initiative effectively reached the families in need and provided them with essential food items during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
