Rwanga Foundation Publishes Four Books

Erbil, KURDISTAN (July 16, 2020) – Rwanga Foundation held the final ceremony for the Rwanga Book Project to publish four books in which were selected during a competition.

The ceremony was held in Erbil International Hotel with the attendance of the four winners, the evaluation committee, Writers, Library Directors and media channels. The winners of the Rwanga Book project for 2020 were:

  • ‘Blue Wolf’ (Kurdish) by Kamaran Khoshnaw.
  • 'Someone is still waiting for me' (Kurdish) By Nariman Kakasur Awla.
  • 'Youth problems in the Kurdish Community' (Kurdish) by Emran Mathhar Hamid.
  • 'An experience for a healthy thinking' (Kurdish) by Alan Muhiaddun Hussain.

The total printed copies of the books were 8,000 copies, 2,000 copies for each story. The attendees had a chance to talk with the writers and got free signed books from the writers. After the ceremony, Rwanga Foundation distributes the books to the schools and libraries across Kurdistan Region in order to encourage youth to read and encourage the culture of reading.

Rwanga Book project is an annual competition that encourages writers to participate by writing Books. The project creates a competition between writers and potential writers. Through the project, the best four written books is selected and is published in a colored book by Rwanga Foundation. The themes of the Rwanga Book project for this 2020 of the competition were: Encouraging youth community to build their future. Youth problems: reasons and solutions.
