Rwanga Foundation Implemented the "Supporting Resourceful Women of Shaqlawa" Project

Driven by the belief in the energy, ideas, and role of women as an economic pillar of society, Rwanga Foundation implemented the "Supporting the Resourceful Women of Shaqlawa" project. This initiative aims to strengthen economic development and empower local women, enabling them to transform their handicrafts and home-based products into a sustainable source of income.

Following an intensive three-day training course, Rwanga Foundation developed the capacities of a group of female local producers in the Shaqlawa district. The training covered food safety standards, the art of packaging, brand identity creation, and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and marketing. Additionally, a market exhibition was organized to showcase their products to the public.

Shaqlawa is not only a renowned tourist destination but also a rich source of natural products due to its diverse environment. When these products are introduced to the market with proper health standards and a distinct brand, they not only provide women with an independent livelihood but also preserve the rich heritage and culture of local craftsmanship.
