Rwanga Foundation is sad to announce that Akon will not be performing at the charity concert in Kurdistan, as previously planned. Akon has cancelled for personal reasons but hopes to visit Kurdistan in the near future.
The charity concert will, however, continue as planned during the final tournament of Xoli Raperin. Surprise guests have been confirmed to perform – at this stage, Rwanga Foundation can only reveal that they are famous, successful American artists who are looking forward to performing live in Kurdistan. Artists will be revealed closer to the time of the event.
Proceeds from ticket sales will continue to go to those impacted by the recent conflict. The concert hopes to bring a message of peace and help to those that need it most.
Rwanga Foundation has played an active role in helping those most vulnerable during the humanitarian crises and hopes this concert will further raise awareness for increased support in the region.
