A Rwanga Grand Reception, hosted by Mr. Idris Nechirvan Barzani, for over 500 distinguished guests to celebrate Rwanga’s success in the implementation of projects for 2013 and to inform them of upcoming projects in 2014. The ceremony took place on 13 March 2014 at the Rotana Hotel Grand Ballroom in Erbil. The guests included dignitaries such as senior KRG officials, ministers, director generals, foreign diplomats posted to the Kurdistan Region, representatives of major international organizations and companies based in the Kurdistan Region, various famous artists and athletes of the region and many other special guests.
The guests were greeted with speeches given by Mr. Idris Nechirvan Barzani, Founder and President of Rwanga Foundation and Mr. Ahmed Rekani, Head of Kurdistan Investors Union. A presentation was given by Mr. Rawand Darwesh, Vice President of Rwanga Foundation. Also, the attending guests were honored with the debut of Rwanga’s short film which was created to bring awareness to the public regarding the difficult lives of children on the street, titled “The life of Street Kids” which brought an outpouring of emotion on the issue. Later The Erbil Folk and Cultural Performers entertained the audience with an arrangement of Kurdish dances and music which was followed with a grand dinner.
