Rwanga Foundation holds Handmade Bazaar in Mosul Governate

Mosul, Iraq (October 27-28, 2022) - Rwanga Foundation  in partnership with the Mosul Municipality held the Handmade bazaar in Bab Eltop in Mosul Governorate for two days to support the local handmade brands in Kurdistan and Iraq. 25 local art, and craft handmade brands participated in the bazaar.

 

Until now the Handmade bazaar was held in (Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok and Mosul) Governorates, it is planned to be held in Baghdad governorate as well. The bazaar started on Thursday and till the end of Friday, twenty-five handmade brands participated to present their products to people. The brands included diverse categories from local art and handmade crafts.

 

Iraq Handmade is an application developed by Rwanga Foundation for supporting local handmade products. The project provides a way for people to sell their handmade products easily and to present them to people everywhere while remaining safe and protected in their homes and maintaining and improving local products in domestic markets. The project could also contribute to decreasing the unemployment rate by promoting home-based jobs and boosting the local economy.

 

The project acts as an online shop that collects and sells different types of handmade products made by the hands of different young Iraqi business owners in one platform and application. The application is currently supporting 327 handmade businesses and it’s available on both iOS and Android systems:
