Mosul, Iraq (19 July 2022), Rwanga Foundation contributes by donating 1,500 eucalyptus trees two meters tall to support the campaign to replant Mosul forests after the recent fire explosion in the forests.

Recently, a fire explosion attacked the Mosul forests which resulted in damaging about 120 donums of the forest area. As a response, Rwanga Foundation contributed by donating 1,500 eucalyptus trees to support the campaign of replanting the forests

This support is considered a continuation of the Rwanga Forests Project, in which 5,000 trees were planted earlier in the Mosul Forests in the spring of 2022 by Rwanga Foundation.

The Rwanga Forests project's goal is to bring life to Mosul's woodlands, combat climate change, and encourage local economic recovery by providing short-term jobs. Over the course of 50 days, the project planted 5,000 Eucalyptus trees in an area of 24 Donums in Mosul forests with cash for work workers. The project was a response and support to the 2017 fire explosion.
