Winners of the Rwanga Book Project Announced

Erbil, KURDISTAN (June 11th, 2020) – Rwanga  Foundation announced the winners of the Rwanga Book project 2020 that were  selected during a competition. 

A total of 43 books were submitted to the project, and four books were selected by a Jury through the evaluation process.

The four books will be designed, printed and published in a colored books, with 2,000 copies/each (8,000 copies in total). The themes of the Rwanga Book project for this year of the competition were: Encouraging youth community to build their future. Youth problems: reasons and solutions.

During the project 43 participants applied their books,(28 male & 15 female and aged between 15 to 54). The applied books were in both dialects (Sorani and Badini) from inside and outside of Kurdistan Region.

 The winner books for the Rwanga Book project 2020 are:

  • 'Blue  Wolf' (Kurdish) by Kamaran Khoshnaw.
  • 'Someone is still waiting for me' (Kurdish) By Nariman Kakasur Awla.
  • 'Youth problems in the Kurdish Community' (Kurdish) by Emran Mathhar Hamid.
  • 'An experience for a healthy thinking' (Kurdish) by Alan Muhiaddun Hussain.

The annual project was announced on January 15th 2020, and people started submitting their books until May 1st 2020. Also, a Jury was selected to evaluate the submitted books; the evaluation committee were:

  • Mr. Shad Muhammed Ismahil, Journalist and civil society activist
  • Mr. Qanih Khorshed Rashid, Teacher and Author
  • Mr. Ismahil Tahir Janger, Director of Public Libraries in Duhok.

Rwanga Book project is an annual competition that encourages writers to participate by writing Books. The project creates a competition between writers and potential writers. Through the project, the best written books will be selected and will be published by Rwanga Foundation
