
When the Syrian revolution began in February of 2011, it was not anticipated that it would take such a violent and devastating turn. Over time, businesses and homes were destroyed. Hospitals were hit not only by mortar, but on a much deeper scale in which their presence were not adequate enough to assist the victims of the attacks, let alone those who were daily patients visiting for routine ailments. The security situation made it nearly impossible for any aid groups to enter the country to assist these victims.
In June 2013, Rwanga charity organization started to assess medical needs in areas of Amuda city- Al Hasakah governorate/ Syria, through a group of local people from inside Amuda city. This group reported to Rwanga of 2 private hospitals which were in dire need of some vital medications and materials the Syrian Government had not provided to the hospitals since the beginning of the revolution.
