Rwanga Foundation and Pharmacists Nineveh Organization Join Hands for Assisting IDPs

NINEVEH, Iraq, February 18, 2017 - Rwanga Foundation and Pharmacists Nineveh Organization organized an aid distribution in two regions namely Zommar and Rabiaa where the IDPs are now returning back to their homelands.

Since the emergence of ISIS in Iraq, millions of Iraqis were internally displaced including Kurds, Arabs, Christians, Turkmens and Yazidis. The internally displaced people (IDPs) have been forced to flee their homes due to the war, most of them fled to the Kurdistan region. With the current situation that their homes are no longer under the ISIS control, they are returning back to their homes.

IDPs  returning to Zommar and Rabiaa are struggling to recommence their daily lives. Rwanga Foundation - in a joint campaign with the Pharmacists Nineveh Organization provided humanitarian  assistance to the returning IDPs, food and other essentials were delivered to over 3000 families. The aim of the support was to help them to continue with their daily lives.

Since 2014, Rwanga Foundation has been highly involved in supporting many campaigns and programs to support the IDPs camps including opening a Rwanga community in Duhok Governorate within Kurdistan Region.
