Rwanga Foundation Supports Martyrs’ Families in Duhok

Duhok, Kurdistan — In continuing our support both emotionally and financially to families of martyrs, Rwanga Foundation issued more donations to 225 families on Wednesday 22 June  in Duhok Governorate.

Contributions within the Bahdinan zone included the areas of Duhok (city), Akre, Zakho, Amedi, and Bardarash.
Rwanga Foundation held an appreciation ceremony in honor of those who sacrificed their lives protecting Kurdistan from ISIS. Families of the Martyred Peshmargas attended the event to mourn and show respect to their beloved ones. A short film was shown highlighting the critical role of Peshmargas and their passion for protecting the land and people of Kurdistan

One of those in attendance introduced himself as a father of a martyred man. “It is an honor to see Rwanga Foundation showing the respect to those who sacrificed their lives to make Kurdistan a safe place and help aid their family”.

In March of 2015, Rwanga Foundation began a campaign to support the families of fallen Peshmerga who lost their lives defending Kurdistan. The campaign has benefited people from the Kurdish governorates of Erbil, Sulaimani, Halabja, Kirkuk and Duhok; each family receives $1000 with the total number of families to receiving donations topping 1000 as of today.
